According to on-chain analyst Specter, Saga, a Web3 infrastructure provider, suffered a hack that resulted in a loss of approximately $7 million. About $6 million of these funds have been bridged to the Ethereum blockchain.
Saga announced that SagaEVM will remain suspended until the investigation into the January 21 attack is fully confirmed. They are currently working with partners to work on remediation and will release a post-incident analysis report once the investigation findings are fully verified. Saga stated that approximately $7 million in USDC was transferred out and exchanged for ETH during the incident, and the team is collaborating with exchanges and cross-chain bridges to block the relevant addresses.
