[QuarkChain R&D] Achieving 10+ GigaGas/s EVM Execution Speed with BAL and Parallel Computing Ethereum is increasing its gas cap, but further scaling the L1 cache still encounters disk I/O blocking and sequential execution issues, leaving most CPU cores idle. Even today, modern clients in mainnet simulations only achieve ~0.6 GGas/s. To understand what performance could be achieved once these bottlenecks were eliminated, the QuarkChain team (in collaboration with @EthStorage) built a pure execution environment utilizing EIP-7928 BAL and parallel execution technology. Results: Up to 14 GGas/s—10-20 times faster than the benchmark performance of a current 16-core CPU.
