Iranian missiles flew overhead, yet flights continued to take off and land in Dubai.
In the three weeks since the start of the conflict, Iran has launched 314 ballistic missiles and 1,672 drones at the UAE. Dubai's airport oil depots were bombed, the Burj Al Arab hotel was hit by debris, and the financial center was attacked twice. But the world's largest aviation hub dared not shut down—the economic cost of grounding flights was greater than the bombings themselves. Emirates Airlines quickly resumed operations after its initial suspension, with evacuation flights landing during lulls in the bombing raids. Eight people died, 157 were injured, and 21 were arrested for posting videos of the attacks.
