I've seen so many female streamers lately, with only a few people in their chat rooms, streaming all night long. What are they after?
You all know Sister Qi from Douyu's "Third Sister," right? I have her WeChat; we used to be pretty close. But before her plastic surgery, she was truly stunning. Now her face just looks more futuristic.
At her peak, I had level 15 fan badges in her chat room.
I've never even calculated how much money I spent on her. At around 175cm tall, with those "car badges," before her surgery, Sister Qi was practically the epitome of the perfect woman in my eyes.
Plus, she was a good joker. Before the crackdown on Douyu, she'd respond to any kind of suggestive or even sexually suggestive joke in her chat room.
Her streams were quite humorous.
However, she was always just a borderline streamer. After the crackdown, she tried to switch to LOL and Hearthstone, but it didn't work out as quickly as her borderline style. She slowly became a has-been internet celebrity. Her chat room is often... I once chatted with her by chance, amidst the barrage of comments about how expired internet celebrities were worse than dogs.
She said that at her peak, she could earn enough to buy a Mercedes in an hour. Back then, everyone in our livestreaming circle knew that Douyu was involved in "money laundering" (a euphemism for paid online streamers).
I also subtly warned her not to get involved, as it would eventually come to light. She was smart enough not to participate in Douyu's money laundering, but her viewership has indeed declined significantly. From millions in viewers to tens of thousands,
and then to a few thousand, coupled with the influx of new generation streamers, Sister Qi has completely faded into obscurity. A few days ago, Sister Qi posted on her WeChat Moments that her contract with Douyu had ended, officially bidding farewell to Douyu. Looking at her now, she's been planning for Douyin for a long time.
I guess her team might let her try Douyin. I wish her well; after all, she brought genuine joy to my young and naive self.
