At lunch, I chatted with the lady sitting next to me. She was 93 years old! It's rare to have the chance to compliment someone on looking like they're 80. During the war, she was just a child and witnessed a German fighter plane being shot down. The plane narrowly escaped crashing near her home. Her mother said she saw the pilot scrambling the plane and felt sorry for him. Hearing her mother call him a "poor man" shocked her. He was German!
