The National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) convened a meeting to advance the development of brain-computer interface (BCI) medical devices. The meeting emphasized that safety and efficacy must be the primary prerequisites, a standards system must be established, and technical guidance and services must be strengthened. It also stressed the need for enhanced inter-departmental cooperation, uniting industry, academia, research, and medical institutions to jointly address key technical issues and improve the industrial and supply chains. Furthermore, it called for enterprises to fulfill their primary responsibilities, improve product reliability and overall competitiveness, and actively promote the faster and better clinical application of BCI devices.
