It's said that the calligraphy people hang in their studies is most accurate when interpreted in reverse, because people often "hang what they lack":
"Great virtue carries all things," often indicating a narrow-minded person; "Heaven rewards diligence," often indicating extreme laziness; "Tranquility leads to far-reaching goals," often indicating a fiery temper when being practical; "The highest good is like water," often indicating a heart of stone; "Honesty is paramount," often indicating a person who breaks their promises.
It's a bit funny, but if that's the case, it's a little hard to think of what calligraphy to hang in a study.
