Online, everyone's flaunting their wealth, proving their financial freedom. What's your definition of financial freedom? There aren't that many rigid standards. It's simply being able to work without having to be subservient to others; not having to compare prices over three months for every purchase or car; not having to agonize over whether to buy a toy your child sees in a store and then opt for online shopping; not having to agonize over whether to buy something you need or like. There's no upper limit to any of these things, but what you can do is learn to lower your expectations. Not going overboard is perfectly fine. Eating lobster and sea cucumber doesn't necessarily prove you're more financially free than eating porridge and kimchi. In short, knowing yourself, living with a bit of a "closed-eyed" attitude (not turning your eyes away, but being aware of your limitations) is true freedom.
