The Meaning of Life
Brothers, hello everyone, I'm trader Zhu Yidan. Are you afraid of flying? Actually, I am quite afraid. That feeling of entrusting your life to someone else, the sense of loss of control brought on by weightlessness, the almost 100% mortality rate in a crash—so I avoid flying to places I can reach by high-speed rail.
Every time I fly, I think about death, and then I ponder the meaning of life. I often thought about this during my school days, even to the point of obsession. In recent years, I've experienced a lot—the lowest points in my life, the pain of separation—and I've arrived at my current answer, which is also my motto: "Life is an experience, enjoy it to the fullest."
During this long-haul flight to Dubai, I asked myself, if I were to die the next moment, would I have any regrets? It seems that apart from not being able to let go of my children, my life has been quite fulfilling, especially after successfully turning things around in 2025. Having just turned 30, I've established my career and achieved material satisfaction. What should I pursue next?
I've found my answer: "I've experienced the pleasure that comes from indulgence; I want to pursue the satisfaction that comes from self-discipline." In the time to come, I will focus more on myself and my personal development, rather than continuing to pursue endless material desires. This is like the difference between dopamine and endorphins. Dopamine is something easily obtained and makes you happy, like delicious food, games, and entertainment, while endorphins are the brain's reward after you've put in effort, like exercise and learning.
I call this the process of sculpting myself. Essentially, it's not about seeking the approval of others or worldly opinions, but about pursuing what I consider "beauty" based on my own values, such as a strong physique, spirit, and courage.
Let's strive together!
