Regular reminder:
A key property of blockchains is that even under a 51% attack, invalid blocks cannot be rendered valid. This means that even if 51% of validators collude (or suffer a software vulnerability), they cannot steal your funds.
However, if you begin to trust your validator group for other purposes outside of the blockchain's control, this property breaks down—at that point, 51% of validators could collude and give incorrect answers, leaving you powerless to prevent them.
