AI is undergoing an intelligent revolution, and with it comes enormous wealth opportunities. So how can ordinary people seize this opportunity? This is a question I've been pondering. Lately, I've been feeling that AI technology is evolving at an alarming pace, with cutting-edge concepts like GPTS, AI Agents, MCP, and video coding emerging quickly. I'm just a follower, eager to learn new things whenever they appear, hoping to see if there's any opportunity. But in reality, this constant practice is exhausting and confusing, as I don't know which ones will prevail. Many concepts from a year ago, once touted as explosive and groundbreaking, are now completely outdated. So, we should break free from this mere following and take a moment to reflect on the underlying logic of the future AI revolution. My answer, though perhaps premature, is to scale scarce capabilities. Previous industrial revolutions focused on scaling production capacity, material transport, and information transmission. Scarce capabilities have become something many people desire. For example, being a seasoned doctor, a professional lawyer, or a senior engineer are all scarce resources in today's society. These are actually privileges reserved for the wealthy, who can rely on expert doctors for health advice and lawyers to protect their legal rights. In the AI era, all this may change. Building specialized AI in specific fields will allow the vast majority of people to access expert services. For example, video coding currently allows ordinary people to access a professional programming team and realize their own ideas. More applications of this kind are likely to emerge in the future.
