📰The Ethereum Foundation released a document titled "Lean Ethereum," outlining its vision for the next decade.
The Ethereum Foundation (EF) website today published an article titled "Lean Ethereum," written by EF researcher Justin Drake, outlining Ethereum's vision for the next decade.
Key goals of this vision include scaling the base layer to 10,000 transactions per second (TPS) and the second layer to 1 million, while maintaining decentralization and 100% uptime. Furthermore, Ethereum will undergo major upgrades to its consensus, data, and execution layers, including a Beacon Chain upgrade to version 2.0, the introduction of Blockchain 2.0 for the post-quantum era, and the EVM 2.0, potentially built on the open-source RISC-V instruction set. Cryptographically, the system will rely entirely on hash-based signatures, hash root data commitments, and a native hash-based zero-knowledge virtual machine to achieve quantum-resistance.
