Learn to leverage your life
Last night, a friend I hadn't seen for a long time talked to me and he asked me, "Do you have a midlife crisis?" Today, when I saw my friends in high school participating in the alumni meeting, he lamented that he had accomplished nothing. But in fact, he is very outstanding, graduated from a prestigious university, and is a civil servant.
The midlife crisis is a common problem, but I don't have it. The essence of the midlife crisis is middle-aged awakening, when you find yourself confined to social roles, work pressures, family responsibilities and feel that you cannot change. You can't see the future because you have seen it.
But this is not the case. I think when you face similar problems, you should first think about learning to leverage your life. There was a word in the past called Slash Youth, which is similar to the same song.
To give a concrete example, this year, I was working, reading, learning English, writing books, doing podcasts, trading, and consulting for founders... In the year, I was doing 10 things at the same time, so meticulous that I was doing N things every hour. This is the meaning of leveraging life, increasing the breadth of life and enriching life experience.
So I don’t have the so-called midlife crisis at all, because I am exposed to new things, meeting new friends, and creating new value every day. I recommend friends to read Jung’s Middle Age Awakening.
Finally, meditate more and learn to leverage your life!
