Iranian Foreign Minister Araqchi explicitly denied ever requesting a ceasefire or negotiations from the United States, emphasizing that Iran will continue to defend itself until Trump acknowledges it is an "illegal war that cannot be won." He pointed out that the US has launched two attacks during the US-Iran negotiations, making a return to the negotiating table of limited significance. Furthermore, Iran stated its willingness to consult with relevant countries regarding navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and that its nuclear materials, currently buried under the rubble, will not be retrieved for the time being.

Iranian Foreign Minister Araqchi stated in an interview with CBS News on the 15th that Iran has never requested a ceasefire from the United States, nor has it even requested negotiations. Iran will continue to defend itself, "for as long as it takes," until US President Trump recognizes that this is an "illegal war that cannot be won."

Araghchi pointed out that the US and Israel provoked the war, and Iran was merely acting in self-defense. He emphasized that previous negotiations with the US had been unsuccessful, and returning to the negotiating table would be of limited significance. "We see no reason to talk to the Americans, because we were negotiating with them when they decided to attack us, and this is the second time."

Araghchi's remarks were a response to Trump's comments. In a telephone interview with NBC on the 14th, Trump stated that Iran was ready to negotiate a ceasefire, but he was not yet ready to reach an agreement "because the terms weren't good enough."

According to a statement released by the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Araghchi also stated in an interview that Iran only strikes US targets, and that Iran cannot stand idly by while the US uses neighboring countries' territories to attack Iran.

Regarding the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, Araghchi disclosed that some countries have contacted Iran, hoping their vessels can pass safely through the strait. He said Iran is willing to negotiate with these countries, and the final decision will be made by the Iranian military.

Regarding Iran's nuclear program, Araghchi pointed out that before the war between the US and Israel, Iran had already made significant concessions in indirect nuclear negotiations with the US, offering to dilute uranium to 60% enrichment, thus demonstrating that Iran had no intention of seeking nuclear weapons.

He said that Iran's nuclear materials are currently buried under the rubble of its nuclear facility, and Iran does not intend to remove them at this time. If they need to be removed in the future, it will be done under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
