US Black Friday Sales Hit Record High
According to data from Adobe Analytics, online sales in the US reached a record $11.8 billion on Black Friday, a 9.1% increase from last year. Adobe predicts that US consumers will spend $5.5 billion on Saturday and $5.9 billion on Sunday.
Salesforce reports that total Black Friday sales reached $18 billion, with luxury apparel and accessories leading the way. Despite the increase in spending, consumers purchased fewer items due to rising prices.
Brick-and-mortar store traffic declined due to concerns about overspending amid inflation and economic uncertainty.
Adobe stated that it expects Cyber Monday to lead the quarter, with online sales reaching $14.2 billion.
