Bo Hines, executive director of the U.S. President’s Digital Assets Advisory Board, said in an interview that the U.S. can use the proceeds from its gold reserves to buy more Bitcoin.
According to Hines, the move could be a budget-neutral way to increase the country’s Bitcoin reserves.
Hines mentioned the Bitcoin Act of 2025, proposed by Wyoming Senator Cynthia Lummis, which advocates the United States acquires 1 million Bitcoins within five years, accounting for about 5% of the total $BTC supply. The acquisition will raise funds by selling gold held by the Federal Reserve.
And the ideas of reserve ETH, XRP, ADA and SSOL are cited in the article.
In general, it is a proposal to sell gold and buy BTC, but it is just an idea, and it is still too early to implement it.
