A report by #PeckShieldAlert and #ZachXBT states that John (Lick) is linked to the theft of over $90 million from a U.S. government-seized address in 2024. He is also suspected of committing thefts against a series of unidentified victims between November and December 2025. John (Lick) has begun depositing funds into #TornadoCash, and 11,037 ETH (approximately $33 million) have already been transferred to the mixer.

According to a report by #PeckShieldAlert ZachXBT, on January 10, 2026, a victim lost over $282 million worth of Litecoin (LTC) and Bitcoin (BTC) in a hardware wallet social engineering scam. The attackers bridged 928.7 BTC (approximately $71 million) to Ethereum (ETH) ($19,631.1), Ripple (XRP) ($3.15 million), and Litecoin (LTC) ($77,200) via #THORChain. While the number of scams surged, a shift in attacker tactics—targeting high-value individuals, particularly through sophisticated social engineering—resulted in higher average losses per incident. Furthermore, money laundering related to exploits reached $1.49 billion, a 14.6% increase. This growth is likely due to a higher concentration of high-value exploit cases.
