Last night I tried to participate in the HumidiFi WET initial coin offering (ICO), a DEX token launch within the $SOL ecosystem, but it was gone in a second; I didn't even see the payment page.
From now on, I won't bother with these highly anticipated ICOs that require a scramble to participate in; retail investors simply won't get a chance.
I heard it's going to reopen, but I don't want to participate anymore.
The day before yesterday, the Ethereum mainnet completed the Fusaka upgrade. This upgrade caused $ETH to rise significantly, reflecting a positive market trend.
Simply put, Ethereum can scale to more blocks per block, more blobs → cheaper DA fees → cheaper L2 transactions. (I can't go into the technical details here; you can search for them if you're interested.)
The gas fees for the ETH mainnet and L2 are now incredibly low, with higher TPS and a smoother user experience.
This isn't good news for other L1 tokens, because the advantages of the Ethereum mainnet are too great; its ecosystem is very rich. If the gas fees are low, everyone will be more willing to use Ethereum.
I remember four years ago, trying to buy an NFT from Otherdeed on the Ethereum blockchain; a single gas transaction cost almost 2 ETH. Compared to now, the cost is just too high.
In short: Ethereum has done a major infrastructure overhaul. It's like giving Ethereum a "comprehensive scaling surgery," with the goal of being cheaper, faster, more stable, and easier to participate in.
Recently, at Binance Blockchain Week in Dubai, Binance founder CZ debated with gold expert Schiff—is $BTC better or gold? CZ even brought out a 1-kilogram gold bar and asked Schiff to tell if it was real or fake.
The unassuming Schiff had never seen anything like it and frankly admitted he couldn't tell the difference. The audience laughed: BTC wins hands down! Super portable + verifiable! How could Schiff possibly win sponsorships at Binance-hosted "Binance Blockchain Week"?
Actually, I think both are good investment options, each with its own advantages. It's not about saying one is better than the other.
There's no need to praise one while criticizing the other.
The adult world: I want it all!
