This is terrifying! I saw this news first thing this morning when I checked the news.
Air Canada flight AC8646, en route from Montreal to New York's LaGuardia Airport,
collided with a fire truck while landing on the runway, causing the nose of the aircraft to break off and sustain severe damage.
At least two people died and more than ten were injured.
RIP 🙏🏼
This happened late at night in North America, and I haven't seen any Chinese-language news reports yet.
Visibility is poor at night, so caution is necessary.
I don't know why there was a fire truck parked on the runway; didn't anyone move such a large fire truck beforehand?
Didn't any ground staff issue a warning?
The impact area on the aircraft is severely damaged.
The captain and co-pilot died.
Sigh, it feels like an avoidable human-caused disaster. 😑
