In my own experience, maintaining a level of strength training equivalent to at least 500 pull-ups and 500 push-ups per week is essential for muscle health. With healthy muscles, blood sugar and brain health naturally follow. It's regrettable to see some middle-aged people taking statins as a matter of course. All medications have side effects. Strength training is a crucial pillar of health. Relying on medication instead of building this pillar is putting the cart before the horse and doesn't change the harsh reality of a hollowed-out health system.
