American education does have its merits!
When I was in school, I always thought, "Why do people go to school? What's the point of rushing to school every day, listening to idiots talk? Why waste so many years in school?"
After I had children, my thinking changed.
It became, "Why should my children go to school? What's the point of sending them to school every day, listening to idiots talk? Why waste so many years in school?"
The merit of American education lies in the shorter time spent in school each day. Elementary school students are released around 1 PM, and high school students are released around 2 or 3 PM.
This is better; I don't have to spend more time with idiots.
They can spend half a day with me.
It's a coincidence that we both love reading.
Going to school would really interfere with my studies.
