Last week I wrote about the S&P 500 index rebalancing, which will take place today. Vertiv ($VRT), Lumentum ($LITE), Coherent ($COHR), and EchoStar ($SATS) will all be added to the index today. The vast majority of trading will occur around the close. Vertiv saw buying pressure 27 times its average daily trading volume.
On the other hand, Molin ($MOH), Match ($MTCH), Paycom ($PAYC), and Lamb Weston ($LW) will be removed. These four companies will skip the mid-cap index and go directly to the S&P Small Cap index.
We have a tool on our dashboard to view potential additions and removals to the S&P 500 index; Bloomberg terminal users can find this tool through BI ETFS .
