Update/Yesterday I discussed AI with several engineers. I said that the only way to succeed in AI is to create native products. To date, aside from cloud services and GitHub Copilot, almost no traditional desktop software, mobile apps, or any niche internet front-end product has achieved significant growth through LLM+, integrated APIs, and embedded AI agents. Or, to put it another way, no traditional software/internet product achieved significant growth during the ChatGPT era. In the mass market, TikTok is the product that achieved its last internet growth through machine learning, and it can be concluded that it is still a pre-GPT product. In the professional developer IDE market, VS Code is being fiercely contested by Carsor, Claude Code, and Codex. Wake up! It's almost like this: when the Industrial Revolution transitioned from steam to electricity, no industrialist would add an electric motor to a plow or stirrup.
