Last night I had a remarkably realistic dream that taught me a lesson.
In the dream, I went to see a friend I hadn't seen in years, only to be wounded by "toxic old memories." On the way to the hospital, I climbed a high bridge, was robbed, and was blocked by a torrential downpour… stumbling and falling until I finally reached the treatment table. While the wound was being cleaned, the doctor said, "You have to get the tools yourself."
Isn't this a microcosm of our #MEME phenomenon?
—Those stories that rely on a big influencer's hype to skyrocket and then disappear as soon as the hype dies down are just like those "bridges that collapsed instantly" in my dream. A path without consensus is fraught with anxiety.
But in the past two years, a story has grown in the opposite direction: $PUPPIES.
Its starting point is as simple as the "long time no see" in the dream, but the most striking thing is: after the team left, ordinary people in over 60 countries around the world joined hands to rebuild a city from the ruins. No chasing trends, no gambling, just building consensus bit by bit through content, live streams, and community—like a painful debridement surgery—it's painful, but the pus is drained so new tissue can grow.
What is "community self-driven"?
It means there's no centralized "doctor"; everyone is their own healer. The market is always debating whether #Memes are a bubble or have value, but $PUPPIES has silently written the answer into its two-year timeline: true cultural accumulation doesn't rely on anyone's traffic, but on how many people are willing to live their stories as history.
In my dream, I heard someone mutter in the hospital corridor, "He came in a luxury car," but I had clearly walked all night. This is very similar to the outside world's misunderstanding of memes: only seeing the fireworks of skyrocketing prices, but not seeing the people building the walls at night.
Two years have passed, and this experiment continues.
It may not have given us a million-fold miracle, but it has given us something more precious: while everyone is looking for the next hot trend, a group of people are proving that "persistence" itself can be a hot trend.
What are the essential characteristics of a truly high-quality meme in your mind, $DOGE and $SHIB?
