El Salvador and the United States have signed a reciprocal trade agreement.
The agreement was signed in Washington by U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and Salvadoran Economy Minister Maria Luisa Haiem, and Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele announced the news on social media.
Under the agreement, El Salvador will adopt U.S. standards and ease restrictions on agricultural imports, while the U.S. will eliminate tariffs on some Salvadoran goods.
