Trump presided over a military ceremony at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, where the bodies of two U.S. soldiers killed in airstrikes in Syria and an American translator were repatriated to the United States.
These are the first U.S. military personnel killed during Trump's presidency in Syria.
The fallen include: Sergeant William Nathaniel Howard, 29, from Marshall, Iowa; Sergeant Edgar Brian Torres-Tovar, 25, from Des Moines, Iowa; and Ayad Mansour Saqqat, 54, a civilian translator from Marcombe, Michigan.
As the caskets were unloaded, Trump stood to pay his respects, along with Vice President Vance, Secretary of War Hergses, and other officials.
