🇺🇸 “Obey Only Lawful Orders”: Trump’s Military Strikes Spark Legal Controversy, New Campaign Focuses on U.S. Military
Two non-profit organizations have launched a bold advertising campaign urging U.S. military personnel to think twice before acting if they believe they have received illegal orders.
Billboards and online messages have appeared near major military bases in Florida, reading: “Obey only lawful orders.”
Meanwhile, legal experts and some lawmakers have questioned whether Trump’s military strikes against suspected drug traffickers in Latin America violated U.S. and international law.
The organizers stated that they are not attempting to incite insurrection, but simply reminding soldiers that even the president must obey the law.
One online message quoted a military manual: “Do not carry out illegal orders.”
This campaign, spearheaded by the Defiance Org and Whistleblower Aid, aims to ensure soldiers understand their rights and have access to legal support.
Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hergses deny that any orders were illegal.
The Pentagon vehemently criticized the operation, calling its supporters "scum" and accusing them of inciting rebellion.
