Yesterday I had an accident on the highway. My friend was driving me to go skiing, and there was an ice block in the middle of the road. My Tesla scraped under it and went over it. I thought it was a minor accident, and I was sure it was recorded on camera. So I didn't pull over to check immediately, saying I'd check at a service area first.
After a few minutes, the Tesla started moving at a snail's pace, prompting us to get out and check. We drove a little further and then exited at the nearest highway exit. We found coolant leaking from the undercarriage, so we contacted the road administration, insurance company, and tow truck.
My first accident experience was so inexperienced. First, I didn't get out and take photos or contact the traffic police or road administration immediately. Second, I trusted the car's dashcam too much; it had been over a month since the last OTA update when it was turned off. 👀 I also learned a lesson from this experience: after snow, always drive in the middle of the road; the two outer lanes may still have some residual ice. 🧊 Fortunately, no one was hurt. Cars are secondary; if we couldn't contact the road administration, we just filed an insurance claim. Nothing to worry about. Another day has passed!
