There are two kinds of "lying flat":
One is lying flat without ever getting up, moving, or moving an inch—a deadbeat of laziness.
This is merely misappropriating the term "lying flat" to gain a sense of complacency and lack of effort.
This kind of "lying flat" is basically the lower class's kind, likely due to a lack of role models, upbringing, or guidance.
The other kind of "lying flat" is after striving, after struggling, discovering various limitations, and then gladly simplifying, letting go, and settling into the present moment.
This is the true "lying flat," the happiness of ordinary people.
