There's a saying: "Children are independent individuals."
But I don't believe anything is independent.
For example, I was born by someone else, but I don't consider myself an independent individual.
Obviously, whether in appearance, habits, or values, I inherit something from my parents. Because of this inheritance, I feel a responsibility as a child.
At the same time, I am also a parent to someone else. But I don't consider us parents to be independent individuals.
It's clear that children, to a large extent, inherit something from me. They're not independent individuals picked up from a trash can. Therefore, I do consider myself to have a responsibility as a parent.
As a person, if something continues after our death, that's a good thing beyond the individual.
They're not independent, but they are related.
Otherwise, why would parents go to the trouble of giving birth to and raising "independent individuals"?
