On April 29, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin published an article saying that the Ethereum Foundation (EF) has set two core goals: the primary goal is to increase the usage rate of Ethereum, and specifically emphasize that users can truly benefit from the usage scenarios of Ethereum's underlying attributes; the second is to comprehensively enhance Ethereum's resilience and decentralization, focusing on and solving potential weak links at all levels of the technology stack.
Pierre Rochard, vice president of research at crypto mining company Riot Platforms, questioned this. Rochard pointed out that the two goals of "improving Ethereum usage" and "improving Ethereum decentralization and resilience" proposed by the Ethereum Foundation are not helpful in improving ETH value, because the use of Ethereum can be achieved through wBTC or USDT. He believes that these goals are partly basic clichés and partly superficial. As an alternative, Rochard advises the Ethereum Foundation to conduct an initial public offering (IPO) on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange and implement the ETH bank strategy through convertible bonds.
