According to a report by Alinea Analytics, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has sold the highest number of copies on its PS5 version. The report showed that the MachineGames-developed title has sold 117.2k copies on PS5. Its PC version sold only 91.2k copies during the first few days after launch.
The PS5 version of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was released officially last week, months after its PC and Xbox versions were launched in December 2024. Alinea Analytics revealed that the PS5 version of the MachineGames-developed title has sold faster than its Xbox Series X/S and PC versions. The analytics firm revealed that the PS5 version of the game has already sold more than 117.2k copies in its first six days after launch. The firm also said that, during the same period, the PC version sold only 91.2k copies.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle PS5 version beats PC and Xbox in sales
Indiana Jones is selling copies on PS5 faster than it did on Xbox/Steam. Our estimates show that just under 5 million Xbox players checked out Indy.
But the VAST majority of these came in via Game Pass. Subscription cannibalisation is real.
So glad more people can play tho pic.twitter.com/BAwUgcwExe

The PS5 edition of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle launched last week on PlayStation consoles, according to a report published by Alinea Analytics. The report showed that Indiana Jones sold more copies on PS5 than on PC and Xbox, even though the game was launched on PlayStation four months after its official release.

According to Alinea’s report, Indian Jones and the Great Circle has sold 117.2k units on PS5 in its first six days after launch. The game sold 91.2k units on Steam during the same period in December 2024. The report clarified that the game has sold 28 percent faster on PS5 than on PC and Xbox, even though its initial promotional drive ended.
Alinea report sheds light on Xbox first-party title experiences
The Alinea Analytics report highlighted that just under 5 million players accessed the game on Xbox, but most of the players checked the title via Game Pass but not actual purchases. It also claimed that Xbox has already staggered its various first-party game launches on PlayStation. However, the report clarified that the gap was closing because Indiana Jones and the Great Circle came to PS only four months after its release on Xbox and PC.
Alinea mentioned that the game impressed critics last year in December with its unique blend of meaningful adventure and some light immersive-sim features. The analytics firm said that most Xbox first-party titles have had mixed experiences after launching on PlayStation. It is argued that some first-party games are sold slowly on PlayStation while others are managed to perform well. As per Alinea, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle have joined the games that have performed well after launching on PlayStation.
According to the analytics firm, the current generation of Xbox has been taking advantage of superfans’ FOMO to increase launch earnings. Most publishers have been using collector’s versions as a trojan horse to demand a higher fee for early access. Alinea said that most consumers unwilling to pay the additional charge were subjected to delayed access.
According to Alinea, consumers of the game paid a $100 fee to get three days early access on both Xbox and Steam. This led to an increase in the number of units sold on Steam.
Alinea’s report noted that PS5 players could also get early access for two days. The early-access increase in sales on PlayStation was not as high as the one witnessed on Steam because the game was already on other gaming sites for months. The report showed that the game has sold over 300k units on Steam after about four months in the market. It also argued that PS5 units sold could outdo PC and Xbox sales over time.
