Paul Atkins, the new US SEC chairman, said at the third crypto roundtable: "The focus of today's roundtable discussions is the challenges SEC registrants face when trying to securely custody crypto assets for clients under federal security laws. The custody rules are amended under the Securities Exchange Act, Investment Advisor Act or the Investment Company Act to accommodate crypto assets being a special brokerage business, is the so-called system feasible for market participants or is it necessary to have a new crypto asset brokerage dealer framework?"
