Yuga Labs, creator of the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection, has launched a new blockchain-based metaverse platform called "The Challenge" to compete with gaming giant Roblox. The platform allows users to create and monetize 3D experiences using blockchain technology, offering play-to-earn mechanics and digital asset ownership. Yuga Labs CEO Daniel Alegre stated the platform aims to empower creators with true digital ownership, differentiating it from traditional gaming platforms. The Challenge will initially feature games developed by Yuga Labs and select partners, with plans to open to third-party creators in 2024. This marks Yuga Labs' latest expansion beyond NFTs into the broader Web3 ecosystem.
