I was inspired by a conversation between StarkWare co-founder Ellie and host Andy. In this recent market frenzy, everyone's chasing new narratives, but @Starknet's path isn't about the next hot trend, but rather the mundane yet correct path that truly brings crypto into the mainstream. Ellie is absolutely right. Over the past 12 years, we've experienced countless trends, from ICOs to NFTs, from memes to RWAs, but these are all just cycles. What truly endures are the infrastructures that support payments, privacy, stablecoins, and user self-custody. Starknet is returning to these fundamentals. Their recent upgrades—decentralized orderers, Tendermint consensus, and an EIP-1559-style fee market—are no easy feats. To achieve these, they're willing to accept temporary disruptions. This willingness to "pay the price for principles" is rare indeed. And then there's the upcoming Bitcoin staking product. If Starknet can become Bitcoin's settlement layer, then native BTC can finally enter the DeFi world without leaving the main chain. This would be the true starting point of BTCFi and potentially a key turning point in the financialization of Bitcoin 2.0. From my perspective, the market is currently volatile, with everyone chasing quick profits. However, what can sustain the next cycle are teams like Starknet that dare to take their time and build a solid foundation. Privacy, account abstraction, decentralization, and security—these may sound like "tech geek" concepts, but they could very well be the moat that will sustain the company for the next decade. If you agree with the narrative of "returning to fundamentals," then Starknet is worth your attention.
